Albert Martí i Sabarí

Albert joined the Lowe Lab as a PhD student in September 2022. He graduated from University College London with an MSci in Biological Sciences, specializing in Cell Biology. He is interested in the diversity and evolution of developmental and regenerative processes, particularly those of peculiar marine invertebrates. His research focuses on the enteropneust Ptychodera flava in Mo’orea, French Polynesia, and how these worms can quickly and robustly regenerate their heads. He is aiming to understand how developmental programmes are redeployed for axial patterning during regeneration, as well as what molecular processes allow some of our deuterostome relatives to regenerate so well but not ourselves.
